Thank you for registering for the Bemus Point Lake Days Boat Parade on Sunday, August 14! Below you will find instructions for the day that should answer any questions you may have. PARADE – Decorating & Instructions

The theme of our Lake Days event is Pirate! Decorate your boat in any way that you feel fits the theme! Once you are in the water we ask that you please line up in the no wake zone near the boat launch at least 15 minutes before the parade begins. At 4:00 PM you will hear a horn and you are free to start cruising; please keep a slow pace (about 5-10 MPH) and enjoy the parade!

DOCKING

Before and after the parade we encourage you to dock and to stay, dine, and shop at our local establishments! The businesses will all be featuring food and drink specials, and hosting parties in the theme of our Lake Days event!

Docking in Bemus Point is available at these locations: Public Docks, Village Casino, The Fish

BOATING SAFETY

We ask that you please take time to read through some of the NYS Boater’s Guide for required equipment and regulation safety guidelines to ensure a safe parade for everyone https://parks.ny.gov/recreation/boating/documents/NYSBoatersGuide.pdf.

By participating in the parade, you are assuming all liability for yourself and your vessel. The Bemus Point Business Association assumes no liability for this event.

Please note that no one may operate a vessel on the waters of NYS while impaired or intoxicated either through the consumption of alcohol or drugs. An operator with a blood alcohol level of 0.08 or higher is considered legally intoxicated. New York law prescribes heavy fines, imprisonment, and the suspension of operator privileges for violators. In New York, if you are stopped for the suspicion of impaired operation and refuse to voluntarily submit to a breath test, your privilege to operate may be immediately suspended, pending a hearing.

BOAT LAUNCH

There are public boat launches around Chautauqua Lake. If you plan on putting your boat in the water at the Bemus Point launch we recommend arriving early and utilizing the public docks (docking will be available at the public docks, Village Casino, and The Fish). You can spend the day enjoying everything our beautiful village has to offer! Attached to you will find a list of local boat launches.
